Gabriel Uduafi, a lawyer from Lagos, expresses concerns at the attack on his Edo home.
In a statement provided to CASEFILE, Mr. Uduafi claimed that armed thugs assaulted his home on Thursday, June 19, 2025, between approximately 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., brutalizing his brother, Mr. Oladimeji Francis Gabriel, and his elderly mother, Mrs. Ibukun Clara Gabriel.
He alleges that they were brutally attacked and that his brother’s head was chopped multiple times by a machete.

Gabriel Uduafi recounts his family’s tragedy.
He stated that his home village in Egbigere Inside, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, Edo State, was the scene of the incident.
His legal representation of HRH Luckman Odamah III, the Zeiki of the Ikpeshi/Egbigere Clan in the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, is allegedly linked to this incident.
Remember how angry youths in Ikpeshi savagely murdered two police officers on March 1, 2024?
Honorable Emmanuel Agbaje, a two-term former member who served as the representative for Akoko-Edo Constituency 2 in the Edo State House of Assembly from 2015 to 2023, was present with the deceased police officers.

According to reports, the people responsible for the vicious killing of the two police officers have not been apprehended and have persisted in disturbing Ikpeshi’s tranquillity and security, which has caused hundreds of indigenous people to flee the area and seek safety in nearby Auchi, Igarra, and other communities.
The most recent assault on Gabriel Uduafi’s home is one of several recent assaults that have destroyed indigenous peoples’ homes and businesses, costing hundreds of millions of naira.
The Edo State Police are currently conducting a manhunt in an attempt to apprehend this feared group of armed youths who want to seize control of the profits from solid mineral mining operations in the Ikpeshi/Egbigere Clan.

A vast solid mineral resource in the Ikpeshi village has been exploited since the early 1990s, when HRH Momodu Odamah II was the paramount monarch. In the third week of March 2024, HRH Luckman Odamah III took the throne in place of his late father.
In order to stop the deplorable trend of violence in the neighbourhood, Mr. Uduafi hopes that the Edo State administration and police will cooperate.
