Man Shares His Experience of Being a Banker in Nigeria May Be Frustrating, Particularly if You’re a Contract Employee (video).
He characterizes it as a system where employees are overworked and underappreciated and claims that the conditions can be very demanding.
He claimed that even though he performed well at work, he was not awarded a promotion or the full perks to which he was entitled.
After describing his experience working in Nigeria’s banking industry, particularly as a contract employee, the man sparked a lot of comments online.

He disclosed that even though he was meant to have a month off, he found it difficult to take two weeks off at a time.
He related a personal story about how, after becoming very unwell at work and needing medical attention, his boss questioned his absence the following day and asked him to come back to work with his prescription so he could manage it while working.
He continued by saying that the experience had a profound impact on him and that he continued to think that way even after moving overseas.
He claims that when he was working at a bank abroad, his supervisor saw that he was ill and asked why he hadn’t reported it. The supervisor informed him that he was allowed to take appropriate sick leave rather than keep his illness a secret.
