Controversy has erupted in Abuja over the bail reduction granted to Pastor Amos Isah, who is currently standing trial for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl.

The founder of Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry, based in Gwagwalada, Abuja, has been accused of using his wealth and influence to manipulate the justice system in his favor.

Allegations of Bribery and Judicial Compromise

Multiple sources familiar with the case claim Pastor Isah is leveraging backdoor negotiations, bribes, and personal connections to escape accountability.

Initially denied bail and issued a bond of ₦500 million due to the severity of the allegations, the court has now reportedly reduced that amount to just ₦5 million under highly questionable circumstances.

“They reduced the bail without informing the victim’s family. It’s clear something is going on behind the scenes,” said a source close to the case.

Observers have raised serious concerns over what appears to be a coordinated effort to undermine due process. One insider alleges the embattled pastor is moving “from judge to judge” in search of a favorable ruling, allegedly offering bribes to secure his release.

Further complicating the case are claims that Pastor Isah is not being held in standard detention but is instead receiving preferential treatment at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), enjoying freedoms typically denied to suspects facing such serious charges.

A source added that Pastor Amos Isah’s team is pushing for bail on “health grounds,” claiming he has been coughing — a move critics say is part of a larger strategy to evade justice.

The Alleged Crime by  Pastor Amos Isah

The incident reportedly took place inside the church’s auditorium.

According to the victim’s family, Pastor Isah allegedly lured the teenager inside under false pretenses, locked the doors, and sexually assaulted her.

After the attack, he reportedly gave her ₦3,000 for “medication” and warned her not to tell anyone, threatening to kill her and her family if she did.

Disturbingly, the family claims this is not an isolated incident. “He’s been preying on underage girls for years, using his position as a spiritual leader to exploit and silence them,” a relative said.

Despite his arrest on June 18, 2025, and the completion of police investigations, Pastor Isah’s formal arraignment was delayed for weeks.

The case was only officially heard in court on July 16, with the next hearing adjourned to September 30, 2025.

Legal experts have noted that this case clearly falls under Section 218 of Nigeria’s Criminal Code, which criminalizes sexual activity with minors under 16 — regardless of consent — and carries a potential sentence of 14 years to life in prison.
