One of the country’s most respected religious figures, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), will lead a national prayer session, aimed at seeking divine intervention for Nigeria’s economic recovery.
The prayer session is set to be the highlight of RCCG’s July 2025 Thanksgiving Service, themed “Divine Intervention.” The event will take place at the church’s national headquarters in Oyingbo, Lagos.
On Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun, Adeboye described the initiative as a faith-based response to Nigeria’s worsening socio-economic conditions.
“Our nation, Nigeria, as well as other nations of the world, are going through a challenging time,” Balogun stated at a press conference in Lagos. “However, the good news is that these challenges are surmountable by faith, if we do not entertain doubt.”
Adeboye is calling on Nigerians to abandon a mindset of negativity and instead embrace faith, hope, and positive action as a path toward national transformation.
“We need to drop the garb of negative confessions and plug into the mystery of faith and positive reasoning,” he emphasized. “That’s what will drive the action we need to move Nigeria forward.”
The cleric expressed unwavering belief that God’s power can reverse Nigeria’s economic downturn and lead the country into a season of prosperity.
“Pastor Adeboye has undertaken to lead prayers for national economic restoration and enlargement,” the statement added. “Our nation needs transformation into the realm of divine opportunities.”
The upcoming prayer session is expected to draw massive participation from RCCG members and believers across the nation, all united in a collective call for divine help in these trying times.
