Men from the Kwara State Police Command have arrested a suspicious man who was buying suya and drinks for kidnappers.

According to the police command, the suspect was arrested while buying a lot of different drinks and suya for N20,000.

Before being caught, it was discovered that he had bought a lot of different drinks and suya for N20,000.

 

The suspect was arrested last week while reportedly delivering food items such as spaghetti, alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, drugs, and other supplies to a suspected bandits’ who camp within the Patigi Local Government Area.

Yaman Patigi, a 36-year-old Patigi town resident, was also arrested.

A few abductees who were recently freed informed Daily Trust that they were only given a few handfuls of spaghetti every day.

According to local sources, the suspect made an effort to defend his acts by asserting that the goods were intended for Fulani residents in an isolated community.

Both the council chairman, Hon. Ahmed Rufai, and a well-known local elder, Mr. Muhammad Ndako, attested to the incident and said the suspect had been turned over to security personnel.

Commissioner of Police Adekimi Ojo told the publication about the case that the suspect’s strange transactions were what led to the arrest.

 

The CP stated that  “Citizens of Kwara have become more alert. They noticed someone buying about N20,000 worth of suya and also drinks in abnormal quantities and questioned the motive behind it. The suspect’s unsatisfactory response raised further suspicion, which led to his arrest,”
