Nigerian Nursing Mother Arrested For Throwing 10-Month-Old Baby Into Delta River Over ‘Fatherless Child’ Comments
A shocking incident has happened in Nigeria, where a nursing mother, Blessing Ibuku, has been arrested for allegedly throwing her 10-month-old baby, Prevail Jonathan, into a river.
The Delta State Police Command confirmed the arrest and revealed that Ibuku confessed to the crime.
According to the police, Ibuku threw her child into the river on November 31, 2024, after being mocked by her friends about her child being fatherless.
The disappearance of the child was initially reported to the police on December 4, 2024.
During the investigation, the police received a tip-off about a child’s body being found floating in the Aviara community river.
Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, stated that Ibuku confessed to throwing the baby away due to the mocking she received from her friends.
Olufemi added that the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as possible.
