Novak Djokovic advanced to the Wimbledon semi-finals for the 14th time after coming from a set down to defeat Italy’s Flavio Cobolli 6-7 (6), 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 on Wednesday.

The win marks Djokovic’s 100th career victory at the All England Club.

The 38-year-old, who is seeking a record 25th Grand Slam title, recovered after dropping the opening-set tie-break and overcame a late fall in the fourth set to close out the match on his third match point. Djokovic, a seven-time Wimbledon champion, is now one win away from his 36th Grand Slam final.

He will face world No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals on Friday, in a rematch of their 2023 encounter at the same stage, which Djokovic won in straight sets. Sinner, however, arrives as a more formidable opponent this time, having won three Grand Slams in the past 18 months.

The 23-year-old Italian reached the semi-finals with a straight-sets win over Ben Shelton, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4, 6-4. Sinner had been managing an elbow injury sustained in the previous round but showed no signs of discomfort as he controlled the match throughout.

In the other men’s semi-final, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz will face fifth seed Taylor Fritz. Alcaraz defeated Britain’s Cameron Norrie in the quarter-finals, while Fritz advanced with a four-set win over Alexander Zverev.
