In Ogun, Police detain a man in a viral video for assault and threatening his wife’s life (Video)
Following the release of a widely shared video that showed Fatai Quadri viciously assaulting his wife, Rukayat Quadri, at their home in Illese-Ijebu on September 15, 2025, the Ogun State Police Command arrested him.
Officers from the Igbeba Divisional Police Headquarters, Ijebu Ode, quickly captured the culprit after he was observed striking the victim with his fists, causing injuries.
CSP Omolola Odutola, the state police spokesperson, stated that preliminary inquiry showed the assault was caused by a marital argument resulting from accusations of infidelity.
According to her, the preliminary inquiry also revealed that the defendant had given another woman ownership of a 10-room flat with a bathroom that he and his wife had jointly constructed, which sparked the violent attack.
She stated ;
‘’The victim is presently receiving medical treatment, while the suspect remains in custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.”
Odutola went on to say that CP Lanre Ogunlowo, the state commissioner of police for Ogun State Command, reaffirmed the command’s zero tolerance policy for domestic abuse and issued a warning that anyone found guilty of such an act will be subject to the full force of the law.
