Qatar 2022 : Sales of Alcohol will be allowed “ in select areas” of stadiums in the World Cup tournament.
Nasser Al Khater, the competition’s CEO, reportedly made the announcement on Wednesday, according to BBC.
When the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East begins on November 20 and runs through December 18, Qatar is scheduled to host the rest of the world.
Alcohol is prohibited in Islam, just like it is in other Muslim and Middle Eastern nations.

During the competition, the nation is still “finalising our alcohol strategy,” according to Al Khater.
The competition’s CEO also revealed plans to permit fans to drink inside the stadium’s perimeter, a first of its kind.
He also stated that a fan zone with a capacity of 40,000, where alcohol can be purchased, will exist in Doha, the country’s capital.
The CEO added that alcohol will not be sold on the streets other than in “selected spots” with additional locations to be “communicated in due course.”
“What we ask is that people, when they visit, stick to these selected areas,” he was quoted as saying.
“We are incredibly excited to be welcoming the world to Qatar and the Middle East and Arab world. For many people it will be their first opportunity to see and explore the region.
“It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we are determined to use it to its fullest.
“While alcohol will be available to those who want a drink in selected areas, it will not be openly available on the streets.”
With one of the VIP hospitality suites at Lusail Stadium, the site of the championship game, reportedly selling for an astounding £2.1 million, the event will undoubtedly make Qatar the most lucrative tourist destination this winter.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles won’t participate in the competition after Ghana beat them to one of the five African tickets in March.
