Anthony Joshua Hints at Retirement, Says 2025 Could Be His Final Year in Boxing
British heavyweight star Anthony Joshua has suggested that 2025 may mark the end of his professional boxing journey.
During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, the 35-year-old revealed that he’s contemplating retirement, signaling that his final fight could take place before the year’s end.
“12 years ago, I signed with you and 12 years later I will throw my last punch with you,” Anthony Joshua said, referring to Matchroom Boxing, the promotional company that has represented him throughout his career.

Joshua turned professional in 2013 and quickly rose to prominence, becoming a two-time unified world heavyweight champion.
His most recent fight was in September 2024, where he suffered a fifth-round knockout loss to fellow Briton Daniel Dubois.
Despite the setback, he is expected to return to the ring once more before closing out what has been a remarkable career in the sport.
If 2025 does turn out to be his final year, Joshua will leave behind a lasting legacy in British and global boxing history.
