Institute Introduces Nationwide Skills Training and Startup Support Plan for 1,000 Youths in Each State.
An ambitious initiative to teach at least 1,000 graduates in digital and practical skills throughout all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory has been unveiled by the Coastland Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies (CIES).
The Coastland Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies (CIES) would train at least 1,000 graduates in each of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
According to the group, the recipients would receive training in ICT, fashion design, shoe manufacture, hair styling, barbering, and other entrepreneurial skills.
This was revealed in Uyo on Monday at a joint press conference held at the palace of Edidem Sylvanus Effiong Okon, the paramount king of Uyo, by Elder Fred Obot, President General of CIES. After finishing the exercise, he said, the grads will receive certificates and start-up funds.
Obot noted that the initiative will offer young Nigerians employment opportunities in addition to practical training and skills, which may assist in reducing crime and insecurity in the country.
He stated:
“In addition to training in skill acquisition, the institution will help create employment opportunities for Nigerian youths, eliminating the current high level of crimes and insecurity in Nigeria.”
It will also provide certifications and initial funding to its graduates. We intend to train 1,000 graduates in each state annually.
In order to help many young people escape poverty and boost the economy, he pleaded with Governor Umo Eno and other well-meaning Nigerians to endorse the project.
