JAMB Updates the 2026 UTME Schedule for All Sets
A change to the arrival schedule for candidates taking the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been announced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), which will impact all exam sessions.
The 2026 UTME morning rush has been made easier by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), which changed the Session 1 arrival time from 6:30 am to 7:00 am, a 30-minute shift.
JAMB makes changes to the 2026 UTME schedule, including moving the arrival time of Session 1 to 7:00 AM and changing the times for every exam session across the country.
An official statement posted on the Board’s X account revealed the alteration, which changes the first session arrival time from 6:30 am to 7:00 am and updates additional session schedules. Concerns about early morning reporting times and logistical coordination issues encountered during earlier drills and mock exams prompted the modification.
JAMB stated: “Notice to 2026 UTME Candidates: This is to notify you of a slight adjustment to the arrival scheduled time, particularly for the first session, which is now 7:00 am as against the earlier published 6:30 am, while the scheduled start time for the session is now 8:30 am and end time”
Session 1 will begin at 8:30 AM and go until 10:30 AM, according to the Board. 11:00 am to 1:00 pm is the time slot for Session 2, 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm is the time slot for Session 3, and 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm is the time slot for Session 4. The format will remain the same for Friday sessions, except Session 3 has been set aside.
Every year, JAMB administers the UTME, a nationwide computer-based test for applicants to Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and institutions of education.
In order to improve transparency, prevent fraud, and guarantee accurate candidate identification at testing locations, the Board has gradually instituted stricter scheduling systems and biometric verification processes.
According to JAMB, candidates are advised to follow the adjsuted time table adherently.
