Nigerian Civil Defence, Immigration, Fire & Correctional Services Pause Applications Due to System Overload
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has temporarily suspended its recruitment process, citing overwhelming traffic on its application portal.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (retd.), announced that all recruitment activities for the board’s paramilitary agencies are on hold until Monday, July 21, 2025.
This includes the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
“The portal will remain inactive until July 21 to allow necessary system adjustments,” Jibril stated. “This will ensure a smoother, more transparent, and fair recruitment process for all applicants.”
The temporary shutdown is aimed at improving portal performance to better handle the high volume of applications from eager Nigerians looking to serve in these critical national agencies.
Despite the pause, the CDCFIB expressed gratitude for the overwhelming interest shown by applicants and reassured the public of its commitment to a fair, transparent, and merit-based selection process.
Applicants are advised to stay informed and be ready to resume their application process once the portal reopens.
