Rep. Andy Ogles Proposes Amendment to Allow Trump Third Term
Republican Congressman Andy Ogles from Tennessee has proposed an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would allow President Trump to serve a third term in the White House.
The amendment, proposed on January 23, aims to revise the 22nd Amendment’s limitations on presidential terms, allowing Trump to serve up to three terms.
Ogles believes that Trump’s leadership is crucial for the country’s prosperity and that he deserves more time to achieve his goals.
“President Trump’s decisive leadership stands in stark contrast to the chaos, suffering, and economic decline Americans have endured over the past four years,” Ogles said in a statement.
He praised Trump’s actions, citing his efforts to tackle the crisis at the Southern border, promote American energy, and eliminate federal programs deemed unnecessary.
However, it’s worth noting that Trump had previously joked about running for a third term, saying “I suspect I won’t be running again, unless you do something” during a meeting with House GOP lawmakers. His comments were dismissed as a joke by fellow Republicans.
