Two residents of the Ngwan Doka 2 Community in the Nyanya Karu area of Nasarawa State, near the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, were killed by suspected armed herdsmen on Sunday.
The victims, identified as Arigu David and Mike, were allegedly attacked and slaughtered in their homes by the herdsmen, who were said to be on a revenge mission.
According to reports, the attack occurred at around 2 pm, and the herdsmen operated in a Gestapo-like manner, fleeing the scene after a few minutes.
The motive behind the attack is believed to be linked to an earlier incident where the victims prevented the herdsmen’s cows from grazing on their plants.
The police responded quickly to the attack, and a detachment of officers from New Nyanya, led by the DPO, arrived at the scene.
However, the attackers had already fled, and the bodies of the victims were later taken to the Federal Medical Centre Keffi Mortuary, where they were rejected due to lack of space.
