Retired Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga’s Kidnappers Demand N250million Ransom
The kidnappers of retired Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), have demanded a staggering N250million ransom for his release.
General Tsiga was abducted on Wednesday night when armed men stormed his residence in Katsina State.
The assailants surrounded the house, broke down doors, and took the retired general away after he stepped outside to confront them.
A federal lawmaker, Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, confirmed the abduction, stating that the attackers took control of the premises before taking General Tsiga away. Security operatives have launched a manhunt to track down the kidnappers and secure his release.
The kidnappers contacted the family on Friday, demanding the hefty ransom.
The police are yet to release an official statement on the progress of their investigation.
