Nigerian Government Engages Armenia for Evacuation of Nigerians in Tehran Amid Israel-Iran Conflict

The Nigerian government has denied reports that its embassy in Iran has shut down and abandoned Nigerian citizens, stating that it is working with Armenia to evacuate its nationals from Tehran.

This development comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that efforts to collaborate with Armenia for safe passage through Yerevan have reached an advanced stage.

The Nigerian Embassy in Tehran remains operational, despite disruptions to normal work schedules due to ongoing security concerns and bombings in the city.

Embassy staff are currently working remotely to ensure the safety and welfare of Nigerian citizens.
