Tinubu 2027? Campaign Allegedly Begins With Plantain Chips
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 campaign may have unofficially allegedly begun — and plantain chips are at the center of it all.
A viral video posted by user @ChuksEricE on X (formerly Twitter) shows jars and sachets of plantain chips branded with President Tinubu’s image and the slogan: “Door 2 Door, Jagaban for 2027.” The clip, which has quickly gained traction online, features what appears to be a snack distribution point with the campaign materials prominently displayed.
Interestingly, the man believed to be behind the plantain chip production clarified in the video that he’s not affiliated with any campaign effort. According to him, he was simply contracted to print the packaging — not to endorse any political figure.

Despite the denial, the video has ignited widespread speculation and debate, with many Nigerians interpreting it as the start of an early campaign — and using food as a strategic tool.
Reactions from Nigerians
As expected, the online community had a lot to say:
@VayPor116: “Is it not a shame that a sitting president is campaigning more than other candidates?”
@felixherbt: “If you allow yourself to be deceived again this time with plantain chips, you may not live to see the end of what you voted.”
@JE_Nuel_U: “ eat plantain chips now and suffer for the next 4 years. Good idea?”
@DonyiboOyibo: “Chai, they want to take advantage of the hunger in the land.”
@RoiyConsult: “Wahala. If Nigerians vote for this man again in 2027, I comot my hand from anything Nigeria.”
@mc_chez1: “Food they didn’t give you before is now offered for your vote?”
@Sir_desmond01: “I’m just concerned about people that will be deceived by this. Are they human beings like me?”
@AkinOkeni01: “Useless people! How is a jar of plantain chips worth it? Highest ₦5k. Will that feed you for 4 years?”
