A criminal network that steals and trafficks children over state lines has been discovered by Oyo State police.
A troubling child trafficking network spanning multiple states has been discovered by Oyo State police.
Seven people have been detained and 17 children have been rescued thus far.
A woman was accused of several offenses, which sparked the investigation.
Police discovered a missing three-year-old youngster who had vanished at an Oyo Town masquerade celebration while investigating her case.
Detectives were able to unearth the larger criminal operation as a result.
The woman acknowledged that she had taken over fifteen children, ages two to seven, from churches, gathering places, and events both inside and outside of Oyo State.
She collaborated with a companion who was detained with four children after being apprehended in Ogun State.
Police discovered that some of the kidnaped youngsters were being transported to other states and held for sale.
When detectives went to Delta State and saved four additional children who had already been sold, the inquiry grew.
Due to their involvement in the purchase of the children, two adults were arrested there.
Unsettlingly, the suspects acknowledged that when kids dies, The bodies were sold to those engaged in ritualistic activities while they were in their custody.
In relation to this, a herbalist and an Islamic preacher were taken into custody.
In an effort to identify the rescued children, authorities are asking parents and guardians who have lately lost children to come to the police headquarters in Ibadan.
