Former Mercy Chinwo Manager, EeZeeTee, Granted ₦20m Bail Over Alleged $397,106 Forex Fraud
The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted bail to Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, popularly known as EeZeeTee, former manager of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
EeZeeTee was charged with seven counts of alleged foreign exchange transaction fraud amounting to $397,106.
Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke ruled that the bail must be secured with one surety who resides in Lagos and owns property of equal value. The court gave EeZeeTee 72 hours to meet the bail conditions.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), EeZeeTee allegedly negotiated a foreign exchange transaction worth $52,895 without authorization from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The EFCC stated that this act violates the Foreign Exchange (Monitoring and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act.
EeZeeTee pleaded not guilty to the amended charges, and the case has been adjourned to June 20, 2025, for trial.
