11 Pupils Got Injured in Turkish High School Shooting as 15-Year-Old Suspect is Apprehended. 

At least 11 pupils were injured after a shooting outside a high school in Manisa, Turkey, on Tuesday, according to reports.

The incident occurred near İnci Üzmez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, where a 15-year-old pupils was reportedly apprehended following the attack. Two of the injured pupils were said to be in serious condition, according to Turkey’s Justice Minister, Akın Gürlek.

15-Year-Old Pupil Apprehended

Authorities reportedly detained the teenage suspect shortly after the shooting. Initial reports identified him as a ninth-grade student.

CCTV footage reportedly showed a teenager dressed in black carrying what appeared to be a shotgun as he approached the area before fleeing after the shooting. Investigators are working to establish exactly what happened and what may have led to the incident.

Reports also indicate that the weapon was taken from the suspect’s grandmother’s home. His parents and grandfather, who reportedly owned the firearm, were also detained as authorities continued their investigation.

Investigation Underway

Turkish authorities have launched both judicial and administrative investigations into the shooting. Two chief prosecutors have reportedly been appointed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

There have also been reports of allegations that the teenager may have experienced bullying, although investigators have yet to establish a definitive motive. Such claims remain part of the ongoing investigation and should not be treated as confirmed explanations for the attack.

Concerns Over School Safety

The shooting has renewed concerns about school safety and access to firearms in Turkey, particularly following other school-related shooting incidents reported in the country earlier in the year.
