According to reports, Tony Obina, a Nigerian drug dealer, was apprehended again after breaking out of the Kakata Central Prison in Margibi County, Liberia.
Obina was one of the prisoners who allegedly broke out of the prison on Sunday, according to reports from Liberia.
A video which shows Obina and another man being taken back to prison after they were allegedly discovered by locals and was uploaded online by West Trybe News Media.
The announcement followed confirmation from Liberia’s Ministry of Justice that a jailbreak had taken place at the Kakata Central Prison.
“The Ministry of Justice informs the public that a jailbreak has occurred at the Kakata Central Prison in Margibi County, leading in the escape of a number of inmates from the facility,” the government announced in a statement released on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
It stated that a search and recapture effort was in progress and that the Joint Security of Liberia had been notified.
