Gunshots Disrupt FCT Minister Wike’s Loyalists Rally in Bayelsa, Tension Ensues
A rally organized by a group of loyalists to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, was disrupted by gunshots in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on Saturday.
The incident caused tension in the area, but normalcy has since been restored.
The rally, which was being organized by the NEW Associates, a grassroots political movement supporting President Bola Tinubu, was ongoing when the sounds of gunshots echoed across the area.
Despite the incident, the group’s secretary, Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe, said the rally would continue.
The NEW Associates had initially postponed the rally due to a dispute with Governor Douye Diri, but the group has now regrouped to continue the event.
The rally is part of the official launch of the NEW Associates, a pro-Tinubu movement.
