The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah of planning to allocate ancestral lands of the Eha-Amufu community to Fulani residents for settlement.

According to IPOB, Governor Mbah allegedly paid N30 billion to some community leaders to secure the land deal. IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, warned against the move, stating that it was part of a larger plan to hand over Igbo ancestral lands to settlers.

Powerful claimed that IPOB had received information about the plot and would not allow it to happen.

He also alleged that the Nigerian military and police were involved in the plan, and that Fulani herdsmen had already begun invading the community.

The IPOB spokesperson warned that the group’s militant wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), would continue to defend Igbo communities against Fulani attacks.

He emphasized that IPOB would not allow Governor Mbah to “mortgage the Igbo future” for political gain.
