The Federal Workers Forum (FWF) has written to President Bola Tinubu, demanding an explanation for the alleged N10 trillion loan sourced from the contributory pension funds without the knowledge or consent of Nigerian workers or retirees.
The group also demanded the full implementation of the new national minimum wage.
The FWF is calling on the federal government to provide an urgent explanation for the alleged loan, implement the new national minimum wage, pay all outstanding arrears of promotion and wage awards, and end selective payment of outstanding wage awards.
The group expressed concerns over the removal of fuel subsidy, saying it has failed to deliver any benefits to federal workers or the masses. Instead, it has enriched a few elites while ordinary Nigerians face economic hardship and worsening poverty.
The FWF warned that if their demands are not met, they may resort to industrial action, including strikes and protests. They also threatened to converge on the President’s office at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja if their demands are not met within 30 days.
The group is seeking a swift response to their demands and a resolution to the issues affecting federal workers.
