Peter Obi Donates ₦15 Million to Nursing and Quranic Schools in Bauchi State
Former Labour Party presidential candidate and ex-governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has made a generous ₦15 million donation to two educational institutions in Bauchi State.
During a visit on Friday, Obi donated ₦10 million to Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences and ₦5 million to Intisharu Taufizul Quranic School, reinforcing his ongoing support for human capital development across Nigeria.
Speaking to students and staff at the Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences, Obi emphasized the critical role nurses play in the nation’s healthcare system.
“You are very important to society, and you are very important to this country called Nigeria. If there is anything we can do to support what you are doing, we need to do it,” Peter Obi stated.

He went on to highlight that the health sector is a key measure of national success, with nurses forming the backbone of healthcare delivery:
“The number one measure of success of any nation is health, and you can’t measure health without thinking of the human infrastructure. The nurse is everything—they know the patient, they own the patient.”
Obi also shared that he has been visiting and donating to over 70 nursing schools nationwide annually, as part of his wider mission to uplift health education and improve access to quality care.
The proprietors of both institutions, Aminu Danmaliki (Malikiya College) and Alhaji Usman Abubakar (Quranic School), expressed heartfelt appreciation for Obi’s support. They assured him that the funds will be used judiciously to upgrade facilities and enhance learning outcomes.
