Super Falcons Smash Zambia 5-0 to Book WAFCON Semi-Final Spot
Nigeria’s Super Falcons delivered a commanding performance to cruise into the semi-finals of the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, crushing Zambia’s Copper Queens 5-0 at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Morocco.
The Falcons wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Osinachi Ohale opening the scoring just two minutes into the game.
Esther Okoronkwo doubled the lead in the 33rd minute, and Chinwendu Ihezuo made it 3-0 just before halftime, giving Nigeria full control going into the break.

The second half continued in the same dominant fashion.
Tosin Demehin extended the lead in the 68th minute with a well-placed header from a free kick, and Folashade Ijamilusi sealed the emphatic win with a late strike in stoppage time.
Defensively, Nigeria was rock solid. Led by Ashleigh Plumptre, the backline kept Zambia’s top threats, Barbra Banda and Racheal Kundananji, completely at bay, ensuring a well-earned clean sheet.
