A mosque in Konya, Turkey, has become the center of controversy after it was allegedly renamed “Victor Osimhen Mosque” on Google Maps, sparking outrage among local worshippers.
The Bulut Mosque’s altered listing drew swift condemnation from the community, with many calling it a blatant show of disrespect to Islam and its sacred spaces.

“It’s a shame to name a non-Muslim and make a mockery of it. We consider it an insult to Muslims, the mosque community, and mosques themselves,” said Zeki Yaylacı, a prominent member of the congregation.
According to reports, the change was likely the result of unauthorized user edits on Google Maps. Authorities have clarified that there is no evidence linking Nigerian football star and Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to the act.

The incident comes just days after the 26-year-old completed his high-profile transfer from Napoli to Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray. Osimhen, who missed Galatasaray’s 3-0 victory over Gaziantep last Saturday while regaining fitness, has been cleared by head coach Okan Buruk to feature in Friday’s clash against Karagumruk.
