VeryDarkMan is struck with a massive court hit as the judge orders millions in legal restitution.
VeryDarkMan, a popular social media activist, is facing widespread criticism after a court issued a startling decision related to explosive charges involving a comedian’s wife and powerful personalities.
A Federal High Court in Effurun, Delta State, ordered Nigerian social media activist VeryDarkMan to pay ₦30 million in compensation to Mrs Esinjemiyotan Uruneyonjuyei Atsepoyi, the wife of comedian Mr Jollof, for defamation.
The controversy began in September 2024, when VeryDarkMan openly accused Mr Jollof’s wife of having affairs with politicians and online fraudsters in order to help her husband gain a government position in Delta State.
Mr Jollof responded to VeryDarkMan with personal insults and questioned his upbringing.

Mrs Atsepoyi filed a ₦500 million slander suit against the social media personality.
In a May 13, 2026 judgment written by Justice R. Harriman, the court determined that VeryDarkMan’s accusations lacked evidence.
The judge determined that the words made were clearly defamatory in their plain sense and did not require further interpretation to be judged detrimental.
The court divided the ₦30 million award into ₦20 million in general damages and ₦10 million in aggravated damages, citing the broad scope of the defamatory content as a crucial element in their decision.
Aside from the pecuniary penalty, VeryDarkMan has been given 14 days to publicly apologize to Mrs Atsepoyi in two major newspapers and on all of his social media sites, including a formal renunciation of the disparaging words he made in September 2024.
