Israel Confirms Killing Iran’s Top Military Commander, Ali Shadmani
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has claimed responsibility for killing Ali Shadmani, Iran’s most senior military commander and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s closest military advisor.
According to the IDF, Shadmani was killed in an air force strike in Tehran, following precise intelligence.
Who Was Ali Shadmani?
Shadmani was Iran’s wartime chief of staff and a key figure in directing the country’s military strategy and regional operations.
He was recently appointed as the Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters and Iran’s war-time chief of staff by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on June 13
The Strike
The Israeli military said the strike was carried out following a “sudden opportunity overnight” and precise intelligence. The IDF stated that Shadmani’s killing is a significant blow to Iran’s military leadership.
The international community, including China and Turkey, has urged restraint and called for diplomacy to resolve the crisis.
The Group of Seven (G7) leaders have issued a joint statement in support of Israel’s security, affirming its right to defend itself while emphasizing the importance of protecting civilians and preventing further escalation.
