A heated exchange has erupted between Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and US President Donald Trump.
Musk claims that without his support, Trump would have lost the 2024 presidential election, while Trump expresses disappointment in Musk’s criticism of his budget bill.
The budget bill, known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” has sparked intense debate.

It extends tax cuts established in 2017 and allocates significant funds to Trump’s priorities, including $46.5 billion for border security and barrier construction.
Elon Musk has vehemently criticized the bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination” that will increase the national debt to $2.5 trillion.
Musk took to social media platform X to respond to Trump’s comments, stating, “Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate.” He added, “Such ingratitude,” expressing his disappointment in Trump’s reaction.
Trump claimed that Musk knew the inner workings of the bill and only developed problems after discovering the cut in electric vehicle (EV) subsidies.
Musk swiftly countered this claim, saying, “False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!”
The public feud between Musk and Trump highlights the growing rift between the two. Musk’s criticism of the budget bill and Trump’s response have led to a war of words, with both sides exchanging sharp personal attacks.
