US President Calls for Legislation to Prohibit and Criminalize Sex Changes for Children
In a recent address to a joint session of Congress, US President Donald Trump urged lawmakers to pass a bill that would permanently ban and criminalize sex changes for children.
This move comes after Trump signed an executive order restricting “chemical and surgical” sex-change procedures for minors over a month ago.
Trump’s stance on this issue is clear: he believes that children are being misled into thinking they are “trapped in the wrong body” and that this notion is a “big lie.” He emphasized that children are perfect just the way they are, as created by God. Trump also expressed his desire to eliminate “wokeness” from schools, the military, and society as a whole, labeling it as “trouble” and “bad”.
The executive order, titled “Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation,” claims that medical professionals are “maiming and sterilizing” children under the false pretense that adults can change a child’s sex through irreversible medical interventions. The order describes this trend as a “stain on our Nation’s history” that must be stopped.
Trump’s comments and actions have sparked concerns among human rights advocates, who argue that such measures would undermine the rights and well-being of transgender children.Â
